The idea that an expertise might expire has been circling. More directly, can it be that business from the usual is dissolving? I am an architect, but am I a 21c architect? The capacity to see beyond and around what you already know is something that Poche, coming from that space between inside and outside, bypassed. Because trusses used to be primarily for roofs; that expired when Poche proposed them for whole structures. That also made them perfect for the parametric model of holistic design. Definitely 21c. In Poche’s world of architecture, holistic design gives small buildings timely relevant value, moving past the expiration date of single purpose roof trusses.
